Specialties and Services

Our doctors use to perform minimally invasive treatments for aneurysm, stroke, and AVM minimize risks and complications and help patients heal faster. Additionally, our doctors perform ongoing research to stay at the forefront of their field.

Devices and Innovation
to Help You Heal

Information about the innovative technology and devices used during patient treatment can be found below. Aneurysm, AVM, and Arteriovenous Fistulae Treatment.

Coils

Endovascular coiling is a procedure performed for aneurysm treatment to block blood flow into the aneurysm.

Flow Diversion

Flow diversion is an endovascular technique typically used to treat large or giant wide-necked brain aneurysms.

Revascularization

Revascularization devices are used to treat stroke and involve retrieving and removing blood clots to restore blood flow within the vessel.

Coils

Endovascular coiling is a procedure performed for aneurysm treatment to block blood flow into the aneurysm (a weakened area in the wall of an artery). Endovascular coiling is a more recent treatment for brain aneurysms; it has been used in patients since 1991.

Endovascular coiling is minimally invasive, and the procedure can be completed by running a catheter through the groin into the artery containing the aneurysm. Coils are then released, and the coils induce clotting (embolization) of the aneurysm and prevent blood from getting into it.

Axium™️ Detachable Coils

Watch video for the Axium™️ detachable coils. The coils are used in treatment for endovascular embolization of intracranial aneurysms. The Axium™️ detachable coils can also be used for embolization of other neurovascular abnormalities such as AVM and arteriovenous fistulae.

More information about Axium™️ detachable coils can be found directly from the device manufacturer, Covidien

Flow Diversion

Flow diversion is an endovascular technique typically used to treat large or giant wide-necked brain aneurysms. In coiling, the device is placed within the aneurysm sac, but with flow diversion, the device is placed in the parent blood vessel to divert blood flow away from the aneurysm.

Flow diversion can be used in treatment of unruptured aneurysms and minimizes the risk of rupture by staying away from the aneurysm sac and weakened vessel wall.

Pipeline™️ Flow Diverter Embolization Device

Watch this video from Covidien to learn more about the Pipeline Flow Embolization device. Certain aneurysm cases require the Pipeline Embolization device during the course of treatment.

Revascularization

Revascularization devices are used to treat stroke and involve retrieving and removing blood clots to restore blood flow within the vessel.

Solitaire™️ FR Revascularization Device

Watch video for the Solitaire FR Revascularization Device. the Solitaire FR Revascularization Device is designed to restore blood flow in patients with ischemic stroke due to large intracranial vessel occlusion. Patients who are in eligible for intravenous tissue plasminogen activator, IV t-PA, or who fail IV t-PA therapy are candidates for treatment.
